Jack Johnson was caught drinking underage, when ex-girlfriend Mallory Thompson accidentally sent a Snapchat that featured 18-year-old Johnson drinking at a party with Sam Wilkinson and Jack Gilinsky.
They appear to be drinking Coors Light, with one talented girl even balancing a can on top of her head.
Instagram user moaninggilinsky originally posted a screenshot of the Snapchat, imploring fans to “not freak out”, because “they are allowed to make their own choices” due to being 18 years of age. “We can’t control what they are doing,” they explained.
However, the user fails to note that the legal drinking age in California is 21, and for good reason. Research has shown that this minimum drinking age has reduced car crashes due to drunk driving amongst younger Americans, and also reduces the risk of various health threats.
The majority of fans weren’t particularly concerned, with most saying that “everyone does it” and “nobody follows the rules”.
However, Mallory started to panic. She clearly feared that she might have gotten her friend Jack into trouble.
In damage control mode, she then commented on moaninggilinsky’s posted photo. She threatened to report it if it was not taken down immediately.
