13 Reasons Why star Brandon Flynn was so upset by what’s happening in Australia that he went on Instagram to pen an emotional post.

Brandon was not the only celebrity to be upset at the anti-gay Australian stuff happening down under. Singer Sam Smith wrote “love is love” in a post on Instagram after revealing that the hate was “heartbreaking”.

Brandon Flynn Officially Comes Out As LGBTQ on Instagram After This Happens

Brandon Flynn has never officially revealed his sexuality before, although his fans have always thought he lived in some kind of “glass closet” much like Colton Haynes used to.

However, something he saw today really shook him emotionally, and he simply could not hold it in much longer.

In Australia, a campaign against same-sex marriage just kicked off. Today, a skywriter wrote “Vote No” in the skies above Sydney to protest against gay people getting married. Grim stuff.

Anti-gay television ads are also starting to run in Australia in an attempt to “defeat the upcoming same-sex marriage proposal” which will be voted on in a few weeks. Anti-gay campaigners blasted “the assault on morals” by same-sex marriage and begged people to “vote no” on it.

Brandon went on Instagram to comment about what was happening, and was very emotional and upset. Take a look at his powerful post below.

Just saw the "vote no" message in the sky, looming over Sydney. Thank you for raising money and hiring on a plane to write your lack of support amongst the clouds. I hope your hate and lack of understanding fades, just like those words will. Too many of my friends have been kicked out of their homes, kept in the closet, beat up, killed, ridiculed by church and state, institutionalized… and you are scared that if we vote YES, you won't be able to show your hate for Us. Fuck that. We've been scared shitless our whole lives thanks to all the stigmas that surround Us, stigmas that were set in place by the same kind of people who flew that plane over Sydney. We've fought, we've come out bravely even in our fear, and you wrote a message in the sky because you're scared. Equality takes courage, it worries me that too many people in this world lack the balls to stand up for what is right. #fuckhate

Fans of 13 Reasons Why were probably not surprised by Brandon’s recent post. In fact, they already assumed Brandon was dating his fellow actor Miles Heizer for quite a while.

Fans have been hounding him to “come out”, even sounding mean and accusatory at times.
